316 steel adds molybdenum element on the basis of 304, which can significantly improve its resistance to intergranular corrosion and oxide stress corrosion, as well as reduce the hot tendency during welding, and it also has good resistance to aluminum chloride corrosion. Chloride corrosion resistance, 304 stainless steel is non-magnetic, and its metallographic structure cannot be changed by heat treatment. 316 stainless steel has a special corrosion-resistant structure due to the addition of molybdenum element, and has stronger resistance to chloride corrosion. It is also used as "marine steel".
